Bao Gong - Natural

Bao Gong, the Black-Faced Judge — was the incorruptible magistrate of Song Dynasty China.  He was well known for his strict judgement and his pitch Black complexion.  In Chinese culture, this Black man is the god of justice, the standard of righteousness.

Inspired by AMNI BLACK’s research into the dark-skinned protector figures within the world’s religious traditions, in this representation Bao Gong sentences judgement with his brush and executes it with his bronze Ram guillotine.  Hand-drawn and digitally painted by Eod under the artistic direction of Basama.
